Husband and wife Ramon and Mercè opened a small restaurant in the town of Santpedor, which became famous thanks to their mouth-watering home-style cuisine. Both already had hospitality experience, so it wasn’t hard for them to run a family business such as this. In 1987, they changed location and opened where they are now as a hotel restaurant. Ramon had worked for many years on the coast, where he’d learnt to cook seafood recipes. Conversely, his son Josep Ramon had learnt cooking in the Basque Country and Empordà, so the two of them began to innovate in the kitchen. At the entrance of the 40-room hotel is a curious collection of antiques, including a few vintage vehicles. Currently, the business is still run by Ramon and Mercè, as well as their son and his wife, Núria.
