Agustí and Mónica bought the Gran Sol restaurant a few years ago, where they started offering elaborate and traditional local cuisine with a contemporary touch. After a few years, they took over the attached hotel so they could run the entire business themselves. Just as things were starting to get a little out of hand, their daughter María came to the rescue with the help of her husband, Marc. Recently, they’ve opened another restaurant in the same space called Desigual, where they serve a more informal menu that specializes in hamburgers with homemade bread and locally sourced ground beef. At midday, customers often line up to sample the tasty Gran Sol set menu, and in the evenings they attract a younger clientele at the hamburger bar. A restaurateur family that has adapted to the times to continue satisfying their customers.
