Quim and Nuria opened this restaurant about fifteen years ago. Before that, they’d been living in Molins de Rei and had dreamed about making a radical lifestyle change. As they used to spend the summer in Berguedà and knew the area well, they decided to start a new life by open- ing up a restaurant in an old bakery. The name was chosen to remember the origins of the place, although it eventually began to serve more refined and home-style food, which combined traditional Catalan cuisine with more modern cooking methods. Together, they tend to their own farm whose orchard yields the delicious fruit on the menu. The chicken is organic, from the Berguedà, and the cheese come from local artisanal producers in Josa. In short, it’s a restaurant in an unbeatable setting, where local cuisine and friendly personal service take centre stage.
