After running a cafeteria in Mollerussa for 15 years, in 2001 Mariano Martínez and Maria José Baena opened the Petit Xiroi in Vila-sana, not far from the Estany d’Ivars Lake. Maria takes care of the kitchen while the ever-attentive Mariano is in charge of the room. Xiroi, which refers to someone agreeable and optimistic, aptly encapsulates the restaurant which is known for its homely and pleasant atmosphere. Their culinary proposal is based on traditional recipes made from quality locally sourced produce. Among its most outstanding dishes are the delicious honeyed cod, the snails “a la llauna”, the mixed grill, the garlic lobster, and the chargrilled octopus.
