Owned by the Garriga family, Mas Romeu opened its doors in 1981 and continued almost forty years later with the same philosophy that made it so famous. Namely, serving up traditional dishes made from fresh produce and with respect for slow and laborious processes, yet adding an original touch. The father still works the kitchen with the same rigor of his very first day. “The desserts are all homemade,” explains one waiter, “because the owner demands the best with his pastries”. Other family members greet and attend customers as they arrive, creating a cosy and welcoming atmosphere throughout. The service is professional, meticulous and uniformed. We can’t help but admire how it all ticks over like a finely-tuned Swiss watch.
