At the height of the Costa Brava tourist boom of 1979, husband and
wife, Abel and Susi, decided to open a small café where they would
serve breakfast and ice cream. They did so directly in front of the sea,
in an ideal location with plenty of foot traffic. Over time, the business
began transforming into a restaurant where they served fresh veggies
straight from their garden as well as other locally sourced produce.
When they retired in 2010, their daughter, Miriam, and her husband,
Àngel, decided to take over the business. Miriam took charge of working
the room while Àngel cooked, a job in which he’s become highly
proficient over the years. Nowadays, they specialize in home-style cuisine.
Even though he’s retired, the father still works the vegetable garden
so that the restaurant can continue to serve fresh seasonal produce.
