The Casellas family opened the Casamar in 1954, which is currently run by the third generation. Mara leads the team while her brother Quim runs the kitchen, with the much-appreciated assistance of their parents and grandparents who lend a hand from time to time. Even Maria’s son helps his uncle in the kitchen when he can. The family first opened it as a hotel, later adding a restaurant so the locals and hotel guests had a good place to eat. When Quim join the team, the restaurant became a gastronomic reference point of the region, perhaps because he won a Michelin star for his efforts in 2011.
