This was once the house of the current owner’s grandparents and was known as “Cal Butxaca”. As the grandmother cooked exceptionally well, the mayor at the time suggested she open her kitchen to the public, so she started with a small bar and an inn with just a couple of rooms. Her son Martí and his wife Assumpció lived elsewhere but came into town to lend a hand every now and then. When work began on the nearby Cadí tunnel, however, demand at the inn rapidly increased. Thus, in 1981 they settled in Urús to work full time on the family business. The place is currently managed by their son Martí and his wife, Ariana. Martí studied hospitality and continues to adapt his menu to the times and the seasons. The two still serve some of their grandmother’s traditional stews, albeit with added creativity.
