Marc Caner and his wife opened Diferent a few years ago because they wanted to offer something different to the inhabitants of Begur: Michelin-star quality food without the price tag. Hidden right next to the main plaza of the church, this quaint restaurant is perfect in summer for its breezy terrace and in the colder months for its warm and cosy interior. Marc’s cooking skill comes from his family, although he spent his adolescence working at Fonda Caner. Later, he decided to leave the comfort of the family nest and work in some of the region’s best restaurants such as Tickets and Casamar before opening Diferent. With the help of his sister, Diferent has attained the personalised charm of a family restaurant with the innovative, haute cuisine influences you’d expect from its talented young chef.
