Josep comes from a seafaring family, which is likely why in 1985 he decided to set up a small restaurant in the family home, together with his wife, Nuri. Naturally, the family home in question was a fisherman’s house in the center of Sant Feliu. The fish comes straight from the fisherman of Sant Feliu and the surrounding region, which led to a committed customer base who value fresh and seasonal seafood. Much like the produce of the land, fish taste better when sourced in the correct season, a principal which Cau del Pescador follows to a tee. In winter there’s sea urchin, at Easter there’s cod, from May to June it’s bluefish, and in autumn it’s all about squid and, of course, mushroom-based cuisine.
