The young couple who runs this small establishment met when they were both in hospitality school. Later, they moved to London for a while to expand their culinary knowledge, before accepting an offer to go to China to cook. Two years later, they opened Casa Xica in Barcelona, fusing together Asian and Mediterranean cooking techniques. The menu changes every month and offers unique and original dishes such as; Delta oysters with ginger; anchovy salad with green beans; locally sourced suckling pig cooked Hong Kong-style; and green soy noodles with locally sourced red shrimp. Marc and Raquel have succeeded in creating a unique gastronomic space, which Time Out declared the best restaurant in the city shortly after opening night. Biel completes the team, a friend and sommelier who they consider part of the family.
