Casa Alfonso’s history dates back to 1934, when it was acquired by the García family. Little by little, they converted the original tannery into a snack bar, which became known for the quality of its cold meats and the fact it stocked ham in the difficult era of post-war Spain. The restaurant takes pride in being the first bar in Barcelona to use sliced bread in their snacks, instead of the typical Viennese bread of the time. In the 1980s, the Casa Alfonso which we know today was born. Run by the third generation of Alfonsos, it features a select menu of dishes and tapas. Without a doubt, the highlight is the croquettes.
