The parents of the current owner, Josep and Mercè, had always been great fans of traditional and family-run restaurants, which is why they decided to set up a tavern style restaurant in Llívia. They found an old house and began to serve “trinxats”, tortilla, stone cooked steaks, and other classic rural dishes that became well known throughout the region. A few of their children joined the team, but it was Jordi and his wife Esther who stayed behind to run the show. Esther has managed to give the place her own special touch. Jordi, on the other hand, focuses more on finding their locally sourced produce. The bread comes from a baker in the next town, most of the cheese is regional, and they offer a wide variety of wine, including one from Llívia. It’s an excellent place that’s defined by quality produce, attentive service, and delicious dishes.
