The owner’s great-grandparents began a hostel in the old quarter of Girona in the 30s but later moved to the market side of Plaza del León which was a lot livelier. The place became a benchmark restaurant where locals would come to enjoy breakfast and other meals that grandmother, Antònia, cooked from the 70s until her retirement. The fourth generation of Eugeni and his wife, Dolors, now run this beautiful locale, which takes advantage of its close proximity to the market to serve fresh produce every day. The duo explained that gastronomic trends have changed in recent years. These days, customers seek healthier and lighter cuisine with less fat; thus their dishes have evolved to meet demand.
