Joaquim Formiga and Roser Moragas opened an old winery in an ancient 1760 building, where they sold all kinds of wines and liquors. Because a good drink always tastes better when accompanied by a tasty meal, they began to serve up some homemade dishes, an initiative well received by the boozy patrons of the time. Later, this small and cosy place, which was commonly called Can Formiga, passed into the hands of the second generation, Maria Farnés Formiga and her husband, Joan. In addition to maintaining the cellar, they expanded the menu and renovated the premises. These days, the third generation of the family, Albert, Gemma and sometimes the third daughter, Marta, run the show. With enthusiasm, eagerness and professionalism, the trio offers a wide variety of Catalan dishes with a touch of contemporary cooking.
