The current owner’s great-grandfather was a fisherman whose family – Joan, Agustí and Catuca – would cook his produce in a small Lloret de Mar pub as soon as it arrived from the sea. The restaurant prepared home-style seafood recipes, which the children, Joan and Carlos, would inherit and later pass down to the third and fourth generation. The team continues to specialise in fish and seafood rice dishes, a whole smorgasbord of fresh seafood cuisine. The name, they explain, came from the grandfather’s reputation as a mushroom forager, an ingredient they clearly had to serve to their loyal customers. Vanesa tells us they buy produce and have a mini seafood farm so they can cook the freshest possible cuisine.
