Ca la Maria is something else. The dream project was devised by partners, Martí and Maria, who embarked on a life-long eco mission spurred on by their environmental conscience. The pair opened Ca La Maria with its adjacent organic garden, which they cultivate under the most stringent eco-rules without using a drop of pesticide. They raise wellfed egg-laying chickens, insist on organic seasonal and zero kilometre produce, and source fish from sustainable fisheries. And if that were not enough, the renovated 18th-century farmhouse is powered by renewable energy sources, which even power a free recharge point for electric cars. What more could you want? Oh, of course, some food. The menu consists of traditional Catalan recipes with a modern, creative touch and made with love. An eco-come-gastronomic dream come true.
