“This restaurant’s name refers to a German tourist who has frequented the area for years. Bei means “in the home of ” in German, therefore it’s “Pepe’s House” in English. Pepe and Neus had their first restaurant on the Sant Pol beach but moved because they figured they’d be able to open for longer than just the summer in Malgrat de Mar.”

This restaurant’s name refers to a German tourist who has frequented the area for years. Bei means “in the home of ” in German, therefore it’s “Pepe’s House” in English. Pepe and Neus had their first restaurant on the Sant Pol beach but moved because they figured they’d be able to open for longer than just the summer in Malgrat de Mar. Nowadays, the restaurant is run by Neus and his two children, Josep the chef, and Carmen, and opens from Easter until October every year. Throughout the extensive menu, Josep cooks meat and seafood dishes such as monkfish with sea urchin cream and rice with lobster. They’ve also got their own garden and an extensive wine cellar because a good meal always tastes better with a good glass of wine.
